We have 22 years of experience as Wedding DJs. Here’s the story about how we became DJs….I am a Toronto Firefighter and in 1993 I moved my wife and two small babies just outside of Peterborough, to Trent Hills in Northumberland County. We wanted to raise the boys in the country and far from the GTA. The first year we were here, we were so excited about the upcoming Christmas Dance for the Toronto Fire Dept. It was a night out in the city with Terry to catch up with old friends, eat a great meal, listen to great music and dance. It was a very special event for us.

We hired a baby sitter, got dressed up, drove two hours into Toronto and had a wonderful dinner with other firefighters and their wives. Every one was so excited to be there and were all commenting on how much we were looking forward to the dance. However, the music was terrible, everyone was disappointed and we left early. The DJ was so bad, that I was embarrassed for him! On the drive home, all Terry and I could talk about was how awful the DJ was.

In my College years, I was very involved in the entertainment industry working in some of the biggest clubs in Toronto. I knew my music, how to entertain a crowd and plan an event. We decided to start a wedding and event DJ service. We launched Homemade Jam! DJ Services on March 17th, 1994 and haven’t looked back since! Our long ago experience at the Fire Dept dance taught us that the DJ will either make a party or ruin the night. We believe every wedding and event deserves to have a polished, well-qualified disc jockey, who knows how to read a crowd and plays awesome music!

In 1994, when we first started to do weddings we just played the music. During those early days, we couldn’t help but notice the chaos and stress that the bride and her family were experiencing as they tried to enjoy the day while at the same time manage all the little details and time lines.

Our natural instinct was to help out at every wedding doing the little tasks that would relieve the burden off the bridal couple, the bridal party and their family. I helped out when necessary and kept the flow of events on track, while Gerri played the music. I naturally assumed the role of wedding planner and day of coordinator years before I became certified. I like to say ‘I was qualified, before I was certified!’

As wedding DJs we have had the honor of playing the ceremony music at hundreds of weddings. I became a licensed wedding officiant in 2008. I have the distinct honor and high privilege of being one of the few professional wedding DJs, who is also a wedding officiant. I have performed over one hundred wedding ceremonies. The reason I became licensed to legally marry couples was to give our clients the best possible wedding day.

I take my role as a an officiant very seriously and make sure I am totally prepared so that I perform your handpicked ceremony and vows perfectly. My demeanor is relaxed, and engaging, with the right touch of humor. I became an officiant to make a difference in our clients lives, but I wasn’t prepared how it would positively affect my life.

In my career as a Toronto Firefighter, I interact with people in their time of need, during an emergency and usually see them at one of the worst days of their lives. Marrying people really balances out my life. As an officiant, I am surrounded by couples in love, on possibly the best day of their lives. I am truly honored to be the one who marries them.

The main distinction with our company, is that we are a husband and wife team who have worked at over 800 weddings together. We are that one of a kind exception in the DJ world; multi award winning and very unique DJs, who are also a licensed wedding officiant and certified bridal consultant. We have an excellent reputation with other wedding vendors whom we have worked with and we are highly recommended by many high-end Venues, Resorts and Country Clubs.

As a full service DJ company we can provide our clients with much needed items to maximize the ‘WOW’ factor at their wedding. We offer a wide assortment of wedding services such as officiant, photo booths, lighting, chair covers, ceiling/room draping and backdrops. If you need any of these wedding services, instead of hiring several different companies and dealing with multiple vendors, you only have to deal with us!

We offer great value! Prices for our Wedding DJ ~ Reception Packages range from $1375 – $2000 + HST. Prices for additional services such as ceremony music, wedding officiant, photo booth, backdrops, room/ceiling draping and chair covers will vary.

Yes, certainly! The DJ you choose will be directly responsible for the outcome of your special day. Considering that the music sets the tone for every moment of the ceremony and reception, the DJ you hire will give you the highest rate of return creating wonderful memories for you and your guests. This peace of mind is worth much more than we could ever charge you for our services. Without question, your wedding entertainment is one of the most affordable aspects of your wedding day.

We take a $500 reservation fee to book the date and take our availability off our website. You can pay by PayPal, eTransfer, cheque or cash.

As wedding professionals, we take bookings up to two years in advance and are 100% reliable. We book up fast every year! If you want to hire us as your wedding DJs, we recommend sending us the deposit and reserving us as soon as you can. When we get the deposit, we take our availability off our website and we are yours for the day! Available dates are extremely limited for 2018, 2019 is booking up fast and we are now booking 2020 weddings!

To ensure every client gets the unsurpassed attention that their wedding deserves, we take a limited number of weddings per year and only book one event a day. We will not be distracted by multiple weddings on your wedding day!

Yes, sometimes we require travel and accommodations expenses. We travel extensively throughout Ontario and beyond performing weddings. Our home is in Campbellford however we have travelled as far west as Ingersoll, Ancaster and Toronto, north to Muskoka, Haliburton and Bancroft, east to Kingston, Brockville and Ottawa and south as far away as Cuba! Your unique location will determine if we will charge travel expense and/or accommodations.

We work best with couples who are passionate about music, who love their families, who cherish their friends and who are excited about their wedding plans and have creative ideas that will be unique and special.

We will give you an amazing wedding day listening to the music that means something to you both. Our music selection throughout cocktails, dinner and the dance is personalized to you, your friends and family. During the wedding dance, we know how to play music to keep the dance floor hoping from the kids to the grandparents, making sure everyone will have a great time!

We use an online music request tool on our website to get your requests in advance of the wedding and then play them throughout the evening. On the wedding day, we also take requests from the dance floor! We can even set up a guest request area on our website. With this advancement in online wedding planning, it’s easy for you and your guests to make song requests in advance of the wedding day.

Yes, we do! We are Professional DJs who are licensed by CONNECT Music Licensing to play legal music. Our music comes from weekly MP3 Multi Music Trakks. We receive hundreds of new songs monthly. We are members of the CPDJA (Canadian Professional DJ Association) You can count on us to provide the highest standards of professionalism and to be be on top of the latest music and industry related training.

Yes, we are insured for $2,000,000 liability.

Never. We are not an agency or muli-op. We only do one event per day and would never think of subcontracting your wedding to someone else.

Yes, we can MC your event and we do not charge extra to do so!

Our DJ style is very welcoming, fun and professional. The focus will be on you, not us. We do not consider ourselves the stars at your wedding. We are not talking on the microphone unless we are making announcements. We are not clowns or comedians and we do not do anything you haven’t asked us to do.

Absolutely! Because we have been in the wedding industry for over two decades, chances are we have worked with your other vendors before.

We have worked with many wedding planners and coordinators over the years and we love to interact with other vendors who are helping to create your dream wedding. We are very flexible, we take direction well and we would never over step our role at your wedding.

We dress to impress! We typically wear black dress suits unless the bride and groom request that we dress to fit the theme or mood of their wedding.

In the unlikely event of equipment failure during your dance we have a complete professional backup system with us at every event. This ensures the music will continue-no matter what. It would only take a couple of minutes for us to fix the problem by instantly replacing the component. Our backup components are the same quality as our main audio system. We do not use our home stereo for a backup system.

Yes! We typically arrive to set up for your wedding early in the morning of your wedding day and are there until after 1am. Dinner would be appreciated. We are both vegan and therefore sometimes we will bring our own dinner. We do not sit with your guests and eat our meals at our DJ table.

Our DJ equipment sounds awesome and looks great. We do not have messy wires all over the place, use old equipment or hang huge, ugly banners on our table. We also come to every event with crisp white linens and table skirts, and we wipe down all our components before every event. This ensures our equipment looks neat and clean every time.

Absolutely! Every picture and video you see on our website is from our clients weddings. You can also visit our Facebook Page, where we have have hundreds of photos of our events, lighting and decor.

With our Photo Booth your guests will walk away with a photo strip momento of your wedding day that prints out in seconds, they will have tons of props to choose from, they can watch a contineous video slideshow of all the pictures taken through out the night, they can see themselves on the screen before the picture is taken, and see picture preview before it’s printed, they can leave you a video message, AND they will also sign your copy of the picture in a memory album. Great value and fun!
